Miami Preview for April 2, 2010

Only 2 singles matches today.  Its mens semifinals day at the SE Open in Miami, Florida.  The first mens semifinal will be at 1 p.m., with the other being a 7 p.m. evening match.

(#4) Rafael Nadal  vs.  (#6) Andy Roddick
Both of these guys have been squeaking by in their previous matches.  Nadal looked excellent in taking out Tsonga in the last round, and Roddick put a beating on Nicolas Almagro, so both seem to be in good form.  Nadal I believe will have a little too much for Roddick today, and advance in 2 close sets.
Pick:  Nadal
RESULT:  Andy Roddick 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

And now the 2nd mens semifinal starting at about 7 p.m.
(#16) Tomas Berdych  vs.  (#5) Robin Soderling
Both men have been playing surprisingly great.  Berdych took out Federer and Verdasco in tough 3 set matches, while Soderling stomped Youzhny and Fernando Gonzalez.  I'm rooting for Nadal and Soderling to rekindle their rivalry this weekend, so I have to pick him.  WAR SODERLING!!
Pick:  Soderling
RESULT:  Tomas Berdych 6-2, 6-2.
