This seems to be the time of year a lot of players get injured or "fake" injuries to not play on the clay. So here is a update on some of the top players who are struggling with injuries.
Juan Martin Del Potro's wrist is still injured. The swelling in Del Po's wrist still has not gone down and there is no timetable for his return to tennis action. His doctor has said, "Its just working and waitin to see the best time to play again." The good news is the doc said the injury would not require surgery.
Former top 10 player Gilles Simon will probably miss the French Open. Simon has been battling a knee injury all year, and has tried to come back in 4 different tournaments this year. All were 1st round defeats.
Gail Monfils has a sore hand, and Robin Soderling a bothersome knee. Both will miss this weeks Masters Series event in Monte Carlo.
On the womens side Serena Williams doesn't know when she will be returning to playing again. She has not played since the Australian Open with a knee injury. "Every week I'm hoping to play", she said. "So I'm just taking it week by week". Let me break these bullshit cliches for you. This is what she really meant: My knee is good enough to go to concerts in Miami, movie premieres in New York City, all the while wearing 8 inch heels. I'll come back when I have nothing better to do. I'm not complaining. The more tournaments without Serena, the better.
Dominika Cibulkova pulled out of this weeks WTA Premier Event in Chaleston, SC, United States with a sore groin... I wonder if ex-boyfriend Jurgen Melzer had anything to do with that?.....Victoria Azarenka will also miss this week with a sore thigh.
Maria Sharapova has missed the last few weeks with a bone bruise on her elbow, and will miss a few more weeks. She is expected to possibly be back in mid-May. So you are telling me she needs to miss over a month for a simple bone bruise? Sasha Vujacic must of been "banging" her hard and she hit her elbow on the headboard?.....Just another dipshit making excuses to miss tournaments.
