Barcelona, Charleston, and Monte Carlo Previews.

The Barcelona Ladies Open in Barcelona, Spain is a smaller WTA event for some of the ladies who chose to continue playing on red clay, instead of playing on the green clay in the Premier event in Charleston.  Last years winner Roberta Vinci is back to defend her title.  The winner of this event will get a check for $37,000.

The Family Circle Cup in Charleston, South Carolina, United States is a WTA Premier event, which is played on green clay.  What is the difference between green clay and red clay, you ask?...I dunno, the color?   Sabine Lisicki the defending champion is not in the field due to a injury.  The winner of the Family Circle Cup receives a check for $107,000.
