Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova had to win 2 matches today in order to become champion at the Monterrey Open, in Monterrey, Mexico, and thats exactly what she did. Pavlyuchenkova's semifinal match was postponed due to rain on Saturday. So that meant the young Russian had to beat Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia this morning, and then face Daniela Hantuchova in the evening final. Pavlyuchenkova showed some fatigue in the first set losing easily to Hantuchova 6-1. Then it seemed a switch was flipped or the adrenaline started to flow. After the slow start, Pavlyuchenkova laid a beatdown on Hantuchova the rest of the match. Losing only 1 game in the final 2 sets to win her first title of the season. 1-6, 6-1, 6-0.
