Juan Martin Del Potro will not be defending his U.S. Open title this August. His surgically repaired wrist will not be ready for match play until after the U.S. Open. He is looking towards a November return to the tour.
"If all goes well, I'd return after the U.S. Open," said Del Potro, according to Reuters. "The tournament is and always will be very special for me, all my life but I don't want to rush things."

More players announced today that they will not be playing at Roland Garros next week. Radek Stepanek, Ivo Karlovic, Igor Andreev, and Carlos Moya will not participate.
Stepanek is basically in love and is too busy "boning" and/or making wedding plans with Nicole Vaidisova. Dr. Ivo is uhhhh i dunno, too tall? Andreev and Moya pretty much suck and wouldn't be a factor, so no big losses there.
